Thank You

I can't even remember how I made backgrounds for cards until I started using Distress Inks....and now I can't stop using them...the best part is that even if everyone used the same colours, not two cards would be similar...I have been watching videos for the newly released Distress Oxide ink pads...and they look even more amazing...let's see when I will be able to get those...my birthday probably.. :)

For today's card I have chosen a peach-ish pink textured cardstock and have die cut a watercolour cardstock panel using a stitched rectangle die first and then die cut one end using the stitched scallop edges die...I then sponged in worn lipstick and weathered wood distress inks and used an embossing folder and water to create a pattern/effect on this panel...

The sentiment has been stamped using watermark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder...I cut out the stamped and coloured in images of a pot and succulents and  placed them below the sentiment...I have used a few sequins to embellish this card...

Thanks for visiting my blog today...Have a lovely & blessed day ahead....Happy crafting...!!

You Make Me Oh So Happy

Unless I'm a hundred percent sure that something is completely ruined and cannot be used in any other project,I will not throw it away...it does take a bit more time to figure out a way to incorporate it into a new project but I find this quite fun too....mostly...ha ha..!! ;)

In today's card I have managed to salvage a Distress ink background panel which I had created for another card but due to a major stamp masking error I couldn't use it...since there was a good section of that panel which wasn't ruined, I decided to use for this card...the distress inks that were used for this panel are worn lipstick, salty ocean, twisted citron and picked raspberry...I die cut the panel using a cloud die and placed it on the white top panel of this card using a bit of craft foam...

I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little girl image and placed it on the card....the sentiment has been stamped using watermark ink and heat embossed using a purple embossing powder..and finally I have used a few silver sequins to embellish this card...

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card today...Have a happy and blessed day...!!

Just Saying Hello

The 'Beautiful Day' stamp set by Altenew always gives such great results...whether you choose to do the stamp layering with it or simply use the outline stamps...and without much effort you will create a wonderful element for your card or project...

The card base for today's card is plain white and I have used a pink mat layer under the white top layer which I have embossed using a lattice embossing folder....

I stamped the flower outline images on a separate piece of cardstock using pink dye ink and cut them out and placed them on the card.I used a piece of craft foam under one of the flowers for a bit of dimension...then using leaf dies and glitter cardstock,I die cut a few leaves and tucked them under the flowers...

The sentiment has been stamped on a small strip of pink cardstock and I have used Nuvo crystal drops to embellish my card....

Thank you for your visit today...I'm glad you stopped by my blog...Have a wonderful day ahead...!!

Wonderful Magical Birthday Wishes

Most traditional Christmas stamp sets can only be used once a year but these days there is a lot of choice and some stamp companies have such greats sets which can be used for other occasions as well...so for my card today I have re-purposed the Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairies stamp set and made a birthday card using it...

For the card base I have used a textured indigo coloured cardstock and die cut the top layer from watercolour paper using a pierced rectangle die...then using distress inks,I created a light background...I have used Shaded Lilac,Hickory Smoke and Spun Sugar Distress Inks...

I then stamped the berry branches with grey dye ink and coloured them in using Prismacolor pencils and also stamped the sentiment with Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed it using a gold embossing powder...

I stamped the fairy images on a separate piece of cardstock ,coloured them in and cut them out before placing them on the card...I have also used glossy accents on the fairy images...

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today...Have a lovely & blessed day ahead....Happy crafting...!!

Scrapbook Boutique March 2017 Challenge

So it's time again for the Scrapbook Boutique monthly challenge on their blog...did I tell you,I won their February challenge...??Well,I did and am still doing my happy dance...ha ha..Thank you so much Scrapbook Boutique :)

Their Design Team is fantastic and I felt quite inspired by all the creations shared by them....I am really enjoying these challenges and the moodboard for this month's challenge is a colourful one and here's my creation inspired by it...

I chose a black card base and a black top layer as well....using some scrap coloured cardstock,I cut them into 1" strips and then cut diagonally to make the rays...after adhering these strips onto the top layer I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the pierced rectangle die..I think it's the easiest way to neatly cut off the excess cardstock as well as giving the top layer a good finished look...

On a piece of white cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the image of the little Prince on a horse and placed it on a die cut silver circle...I have used craft foam under this circle before placing it on the card...I die cut a larger silver circle frame and placed it around the circle an cut off the part that didn't fit on the top layer....

I stamped the sentiment on a silver banner and placed it on the card...and to embellish the card I punched a few hearts from red glitter cardstock and adhered them to the card...

Thank you for stopping by my blog today...Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead...!!

Just For You

For today's card I decided to use only watercolour pencils for the background as well as to colour in...it was just an idea I had and thankfully I got good results... :)

On a plain white card base,I die cut a watercolour paper top layer using a cross stitched rectangle die....on this top layer,I randomly scribbled some green shades and used a water brush to spread out the colours to cover most of it...

I then stamped the flower vase and the flower images on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in with watercolour pencils and a water brush as well...once the images were dry,I cut them out and placed them onto the card....I have also used the Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on these images...

Lastly,I have added the stamped sentiment and a few sequins to embellish this card...

A Home Is Made Of Love And Dreams

I really like the quote from the stamp set I have used to make this card....It's a stamp set by Stampendous called Family Home...all the images in this stamp set have a very different look...

I started by cutting tan coloured cardstock to size for the card base and white cardstock for the top panel...on the white panel I stamped the sentiment and the home image and masked it to add a couple of tree stamps beside and behind the house...

Once the image was coloured in,I sponged in some weathered wood distress ink on the edges and stamped a few hearts using red ink as well....

Finally,I die cut a thin frame from silver foil cardstock and placed it on the top layer...

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today...Happy crafting...!!

Gear Up For A Great Birthday

I'm sure there must be other card makers like me who struggle with making cards for boys or men....for me it's mainly because I get attracted to flowers or cute images and bright colours and find it easy to create with them...so I bought the bionic bots stamp set by MFT specifically to make cards for boys...and guess what was the very first card I made with it...??A  love themed card that I shared last month - Nuts Over Bolts About You :) :p

So I had a good laugh at myself and sat down to make this card....the card base is plain white and I die cut the top layer from watercolor cardstock using an Avery Elle pierced rectangle die....I stamped all the bionic bots images randomly and coloured them in lightly using grey, red and yellow watercolour pencils and my Dove blender pen...and filled in the rest of the top layer with a light blue colour...

I stamped the sentiment on two small die cut rectangles using blue ink and before adhering them onto the card,I added three gears that I die cut using silver foil cardstock...

Here is a closer look of the sentiment section of my card...sorry I wasn't able to click a better picture so the gears look black instead of silver...
