Scrapbook Boutique April Challenge

For the April challenge at Scrapbook Boutique blog, the moodboard theme is 'pastels'....for a minute I thought I would actually be giving it a miss...I usually go for bright colours and haven't tried anything much with pastels....so I went through the blog hop yet again looking for ideas from the DT...

I was inspired by Therese's white heat embossed image,Linda's choice of Distress Oxide shades for water colouring and added a tag to my project after being inspired by Louise's layout...of course I added my imagination as well and here's what I managed to create...

I chose a plain white card base and a white top layer the same size as the card front...I first splattered some fossilized amber distress oxide ink mixed with a bit of water and set it aside to dry...

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the three butterflies using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using white embossing powder...I then used worn lipstick, broken china and wilted violet distress oxide inks to watercolour these butterflies and cut them out once they were dry...

I cut three wide strips from textured pastel coloured cardstock and used a fringe scissor to add a fringe on one end of these strips before layering them and adhering them to the front layer...I used a large rectangle stitched die to create a border as well as to get rid of the excess....

I then stamped the sentiment on a small tag and adhered it to the card front and used glue dots to adhere the butterflies...and finally I have used Nuvo sea breeze jewel drops to the butterflies which was just perfect for this card...
