Galaxy Background Using Watercolours

I have tried 'galaxy-like' backgrounds for my cards but have been fascinated by the watercolour galaxy background cards that some card makers have shared on various platforms...I couldn't understand how it was done until I saw the tutorial by Yana Smakula....I do realise that I have used too much colour and less water so my backgrounds are quite blotchy and brighter than they should be... anyways, these are my first couple of tries following the technique....

I chose gold cardstock to create the card base for my first card...I cut out a watercolour panel to size and stamped the dragon, the hedgehog and the log and masked them...I didn't know how my background was going to turn out so I did not colour in the images right away... :)

I then pulled out my Gansai Tambi watercolours and my heat gun and followed the tutorial to create my background...I did add some gold paint splatters on my background which Yana hasn't...

Once my panel was completely dry,I coloured in the images using Spectrum Noir markers and added the stamped sentiment label to the card front...finally, I used the sparkle pen on the coloured images and my card was ready...

For my second card I chose a green card base and cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel...I stamped and masked the unicorn image and proceeded to create the galaxy background...

Once dry,I coloured in the image and die cut a tag from silver foil cardstock and stamped the sentiment using blazing red stazon ink...I adhered some craft foam under the tag before adding it to the card...

To embellish this card I have used silver star sequins...and because I find foil cardstock so hard to photograph I have added quite a few pictures of this card...here is a much clearer and close up shot of the silver tag...
